Company Profile:
CSIC is the largest research organization in Spain. The Lopsi group at CAR-CSIC center performs research on localization systems for GPS-denied environments (indoors, underground, dense forest, deep valleys) using light-weight pedestrian dead-reckoning sensors (IMU, barometer, magnetometer,...). This system can be applied to locate dismounted soldiers in GPS-denied areas with an accuracy better than 0.3% of total travelled distance (3 meter error after a 1000 meter-long path).

1. Geographical location: CAR-CSIC, 28500, Arganda del Rey (Madrid).
2. Type of organisation: Research center.
3. General information: Other activities of research, apart from Localization, are Sensors, perception, robotics, UAV,...
Profiltitel

Dismounted Soldier Localization in GPS-Denied Areas using Inertial Sensors

What we offer:
In our CSIC group we research on localization systems for GPS-denied environments (indoors, underground, dense forest, deep valleys) using light-weight pedestrian dead-reckoning sensors (IMU, barometer, magnetometer,...). This system can be applied to locate dismounted soldiers in GPS-denied areas with an accuracy better than 0.3% of total travelled distance (3 meter error after a 1000 meter-long path). The system operates in real-time, is low cost, and has an open architecture for integration and fusion with other existing sensors (GPS, Radio-based ranging, RFID, UWB, ultrasound, etc).

What we are looking for:
Looking for enterprises and organizations willing to set-up a collaborative research project with us. Desired support to further research on this topic or related topics in the secury and defense area.

Keywords:
  • Plataformas terrestres, navales, aeroespaciales, no tripuladas y robótica
  • Sensores, óptica y electro-óptica
