C/ Mariano Esquillor s/n
The Institute of Nanoscience of Aragon is an interdisciplinary research institute of the University of Zaragoza, created in 2003. Our activity is focused on R+D in nanoscience and nanotechnology, based on the processing and fabrication of structures at the nanoscale and the study of their applications.

Explosives detection with nanoporous solids
What we offer:
Our expertise is related to the preparation of nanoporous (micro and mesoporous; i.e zeolites, M41S, titanosilicates) materials whose properties have been tailored towards the selective adsorption of nitro-derivatives. The application here envisioned is the challenging vapor detection of explosives by easy to operate, low-cost, accurate and fast chemical sensors based on nanoporous solid as chemical receptors. To this end, the developed nanoporous materials will be deployed on high sensitive Si mechanical transducers-cantilevers provided with internal heating elements, with the aim of serving either as a target for the desired species, or as a barrier for interfering components.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for collaboration with academic and or industrial partners in the field of microelectronics and signal processing for MEMS, sensor encapsulation. Moreover, we are willing to contact with the final users of our technology to carry out field tests with our preliminary prototypes.
